ESA conference

On September 13th-16th, 2017, Albinism Europe attended the joint conference of the European Strabismological Association and the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus in Porto, Portugal,

This year, the number of participants was notably higher because the meeting was held jointly with the AAPOS. This meant a significant number of ophthalmologists and orthoptists stopped at the Albinism Europe booth to get information about albinism (diagnosis and lifelong medical care), the European albinism associations and the upcoming 4th European Days of Albinism scientific conference.
During the three days of the event, Antoine Gliksohn (from Genespoir, France), who was running the stand, talked to medical professionals from all over Europe, the USA, Brazil and the Middle-East. Once again, Albinism Europe shared the information booth with Aniridia Europe, the European Federation of Aniridia. They were the only two patients’ organizations attending the event.
Since 2013, the board of the European Strabismological Association has been very kind in offering Albinism Europe the opportunity to hold a stand during its annual conference.
